How much firewood do I need for a season?
As a rule of thumb: 1–2 fires a week needs about one cord (3.65 m³) a season — our 3 m³ load is close. 2–3 fires a week needs about 7 m³ — order a 6 m³ load and top up. 4–5 fires a week needs about 11 m³ — a 9 m³ load plus a top-up, or two 6 m³ loads.
What is a thrown measure?
Firewood is sold loose, as thrown into the truck — not hand-stacked. It's the standard way loose firewood is measured in New Zealand. One old-fashioned cord equals 3.65 cubic metres thrown.
Where do you deliver?
Throughout Hawke's Bay — Napier and Hastings for $40, wider Hawke's Bay (Bay View, Central Hawke's Bay, Wairoa) for $80. Delivery charges are calculated at checkout from your postcode. We are delivery only; for health and safety reasons we don't allow yard pickup.
Is the wood really dry?
Yes — every load is guaranteed at 25% moisture or less, so it lights easily and burns hot. Product pages list typical drying times and moisture content for each wood.
How can I pay?
Credit or debit card online, bank transfer (internet banking — funds must clear before delivery), or cash on delivery. Every order includes a GST invoice/receipt. All prices include GST.
Do you do WINZ quotes?
Yes. Request a quote on our WINZ quotes page and we'll email it to you, usually the same day, ready for Work & Income. Once payment is confirmed, we deliver.
When should I order?
Order early — spring and summer buying gets you the driest wood and the best availability. Firewood is subject to availability in peak winter.
Which wood should I choose?
Softwoods like pine light easily and are great for kindling and everyday fires. Hardwoods like blue gum, kanuka and macrocarpa burn longer and hotter. Our mixes give you both in one load — easy lighting plus a long burn.
